Overview
- Officers were called just before 11:45pm on Saturday, January 17, to Catherine Gardens in Thorpe St Andrew, where a woman in her 40s was declared dead at the scene.
- A man in his 60s was arrested in the early hours of Sunday at Harvard Court off Dereham Road and remains in custody at Wymondham Police Investigation Centre on suspicion of murder.
- Detectives are working across two sealed locations with cordons at Catherine Gardens near Yarmouth Road and at Dereham Road as forensic teams continue examinations.
- On-scene investigators erected a forensic tent, removed bagged items, searched nearby bins, examined several vehicles, and recovered one vehicle; newly published footage shows the arrest.
- Yarmouth Road is closed between School Avenue and Pound Lane with bus diversions in place, and police urge anyone with information to contact them quoting reference 559 of 17 January or to call Crimestoppers anonymously.
