Norwich City Sets Four-Phase Carrow Road Overhaul, Moving More Than 3,000 Fans by 2026

The phased overhaul aims to grow matchday revenue to pave the way for a future Geoffrey Watling City Stand rebuild.

Overview

  • From the 2026/27 season, visiting supporters will move to the lower River End, requiring the relocation of more than 3,000 home season-ticket holders, including a section of the South Stand.
  • Phase one proposes a new fan zone behind the Barclay Stand, with planning submission targeted for January and work hoped to begin in July.
  • Phase three introduces premium matchday offerings across the River End, South Stand and Barclay in 2027/28, followed by preparatory work for a City Stand redevelopment from 2028 onward.
  • The club says the layout changes are intended to boost income and improve safety, including a segregated away entrance at the River End and keeping visiting fans away from the proposed fan zone.
  • Affected supporters have been contacted directly and will get priority to relocate during 2026/27 renewals, with an open evening on 15 October to address questions and with reactions ranging from frustration to cautious backing.
