Norway Secures $360 Million Deal for U.S. Air Defense Missiles

The purchase of AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM missiles marks one of Norway's largest military procurements amid increased defense spending.

Norway has agreed to purchase AIM-120C-8 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missiles from the U.S. for over 4 billion Norwegian crowns.
The missiles, manufactured by RTX Corporation, will enhance Norway's ground-based air defense and can also be used with F-35A fighter jets.
This acquisition is one of the largest single weapon procurements in the history of the Norwegian Armed Forces.
Norway, a NATO member, is increasing its defense capabilities in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
