Norway Detains German National for Alleged Crimes Against Humanity in Cameroon

The man, of Cameroonian heritage, is suspected of playing a central role in the ongoing Anglophone crisis.

Norwegian police have detained a German national in his 50s, who resides in Norway, for allegedly inciting crimes against humanity in Cameroon.
This marks the first time Norway has initiated legal proceedings for such crimes.
The suspect is believed to have had a central role in the ongoing armed conflict in Cameroon's English-speaking regions, known as the Anglophone crisis.
The Anglophone crisis, which began in 2016, has resulted in over 6,000 deaths and displaced more than 760,000 people.
Both armed separatist groups and Cameroonian government forces have been accused of committing abuses and crimes against civilians during the conflict.
