Norway Bolsters Ukraine's Defense with F-16s and Patriot Systems

Norway commits significant funding for Ukraine's air defense, including F-16 fighter jets and a new Patriot air defense system.

Norway will allocate NOK 1.3 billion (over $85.9 million) for weapons and equipment for F-16 fighter jets to be delivered to Ukraine this year.
A total of six F-16s are expected to be transferred from Norway to Ukraine before the end of the year.
Norway is also contributing NOK 1.4 billion ($128 million) to co-fund a Patriot air defense system sourced from Romania.
The Norwegian government emphasizes the importance of strengthening Ukraine's air defense capabilities amid ongoing Russian missile and drone strikes.
Norway has previously provided Ukraine with NASAMS air defense systems and trained personnel, committing around 4 billion Norwegian kroner to air defense support this year.
