Northern Railways and SBI Hand Over Rs 1 Crore Insurance Cheque to Pilot’s Family

  • On June 21, Northern Railways General Manager Ashok Kumar Verma and the SBI Delhi Circle general manager presented the Rs 1 crore cheque to Sushil Lal’s widow under the Railway Salary Package Agreement.
  • The payment supplements settlement and ex-gratia sums released by the Personnel Department and is funded by the Diamond variant of SBI’s Railway Salary Package.
  • Sushil Lal, a loco pilot in the Moradabad Division, died in a March 11 accident that triggered the personal accident insurance claim.
  • The January 2 Railway Salary Package Agreement introduced special insurance cover to bolster financial security for railway employees’ families in the event of accidental death.
  • Railway and bank officials, including SBI branch managers, were praised for swift coordination in processing the payout and extending condolences to the bereaved family.
