Northern Railway Adds Vande Bharat Festival Specials on DelhiPatna Route From Oct. 11

Alternating-day services with limited stops aim to ease Diwali and Chhath travel pressure.

Overview

  • Two temporary Vande Bharat sets will operate between New Delhi and Patna from October 11 to roughly November 16–17, running as trains 02251, 02252, 02253 and 02254 on alternating days.
  • Departures are scheduled at 08:35 from New Delhi with arrival in Patna at 21:30, and at 10:00 from Patna with arrival in New Delhi at 23:30, covering about 1,000 km in around 13 hours.
  • The specials will halt at six stations: Aligarh, Kanpur Central, Prayagraj, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction, Buxar and Ara.
  • Each service uses a 16‑coach, fully air‑conditioned rake, with media reporting indicative fares of Rs 2,595 for Chair Car and Rs 4,675 for Executive Class.
  • Reports differ on the inaugural run sequence, with some listing the first departure from New Delhi on October 11 and others indicating the first Patna departure on October 11–12.
