Northern California Woman Killed by Black Bear After Months of Harassment

71-year-old Patrice Miller had repeatedly reported a bear attempting to break into her home before the fatal attack.

Miller installed steel bars on her windows, but the bear broke in through her door.
Authorities initially believed Miller died of natural causes before being mauled, but an autopsy confirmed the bear killed her.
The bear was euthanized after being trapped on another property, with DNA confirming it was the same bear that killed Miller.
