Northern Belle Announces UK Christmas Tour and Derby–Carlisle Steam Trip This Week

Overview

  • The 1930s-style Pullman train is scheduled to run Derby to Carlisle on 25 October, with a diesel leg to Carnforth before steam locomotive Tangmere hauls the scenic stretch over landmarks including the Ribblehead Viaduct.
  • The Edinburgh day trip on 3 December is set to depart Manchester Victoria, Crewe, Preston and Lancaster at published provisional times, priced at £495 per person with optional upgrades.
  • The Christmas lunch tour begins 12 December in Norwich and Ipswich, continues through London, Coventry, Birmingham, York, Doncaster, Sheffield, Darlington, Durham, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh, and concludes 20 December in Manchester, Huddersfield and Leeds.
  • Festive services feature red-carpet boarding, welcome drinks, live musicians and an onboard magician, with seven-course lunches or six-course dinners served in restored carriages named for British castles and stately homes.
  • Base fares for lunch services start from £395, with Laurent-Perrier Class at £95 extra and Krug Class at £195 extra offering premium champagne service, including a bottle of Krug per couple and, on some dates, allocated seating in Duart or Glamis.
