- Meghalaya CM Conrad K. Sangma, Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Bikram Manikya Debbarma, Nagaland leader Mmhonlumo Kikon and Assam’s Daniel Langthasa launched the effort at New Delhi’s Constitution Club on 4 November.
- The groups said they plan to merge into a single party with one flag and symbol, with the name, flag and symbol to be decided after the panel’s report.
- NPP’s James P. K. Sangma was named convener of the nine-member committee tasked with drafting the constitution, structure, flag and symbol.
- Leaders said the new platform will contest elections independently even as NPP and Tipra Motha remain in the BJP-led NEDA for now.
- The stated agenda prioritises protecting indigenous land and property rights, defending Sixth Schedule provisions, curbing cross-border infiltration and addressing racial discrimination against Northeastern people.
