• She also praised Yoon's predecessor, Moon Jae-in, for his 'sagacious and crafty' approach, but claimed that North Korea lost time building up its military capacity during his term.
• Yoon has pledged to 'build peace through strength' and accelerate defensive readiness alongside Washington and Tokyo, aiming to complete an enhanced ROK-U.S. extended deterrence system by the first half of this year.
• North Korea has been conducting missile and weapons tests at a record pace and has also boosted ties with Moscow, allegedly supplying artillery and equipment to Russia and receiving advanced technology for its space and missile programs in return.
• Kim Jong Un has announced plans to launch three more satellites in 2024 and continue to build up North Korea's nuclear arsenal in preparation for a confrontation with Seoul.
