U.S. and Allies Impose Sanctions on North Korea Following Spy Satellite Launch

North Korea's leader Kim Jong-un's sister, Kim Yo Jong, has rejected the U.S.'s offer for dialogue, stating that North Korea will never negotiate its sovereignty with the U.S.
The U.S., in coordination with Australia, Japan, and Korea, has imposed fresh sanctions on North Korea following its launch of a spy satellite last week.
North Korea has claimed that its spy satellite has photographed key U.S. and South Korean military sites, including the White House and the Pentagon.
Kim Yo Jong has vowed that North Korea will continue to launch more satellites and other weapons in violation of U.N. bans.
The U.S. and South Korea have confirmed that the North Korean satellite has entered orbit, but outside experts doubt whether it can produce militarily meaningful high-resolution imagery.
