North Dakota Governor Signs Law Banning Transgender Women From Female Sports

North Dakota's Republican governor Doug Burgum signed two bills into law banning transgender girls and women from competing in K-12 and college women's sports.
The bills prohibit transgender athletes from joining women's sports teams and were passed by veto-proof majorities in the state legislature.
North Dakota now joins 19 other states that have imposed some form of restriction on transgender athletes.
The ban comes despite no recorded instances of transgender athletes causing issues in women's sports in North Dakota in recent years.
The Biden administration has proposed a rule prohibiting outright bans on transgender athletes.
