North Bengal Landslides Kill Five, Cut Road Links to Sikkim

Rescue crews work to reopen blocked highways with IMD warnings keeping the region on high alert through October 6.

Several houses were damaged after the swelling Teesta river at Teesta Bazar in Kalimpong. At Dhudia under Mirik sub-division, many houses were swept away by the Balasan River.
While an exact number has not been revealed, local reports say at least six people have been confirmed dead in Mirik due to the landslides.
