Overview
- Cape Hatteras National Seashore confirmed an unoccupied Tower Circle Road home fell before sunrise Sunday, the 28th collapse on Hatteras Island since 2020.
- The storm delivered 50–70 mph gusts, high tides and rough surf that stripped sand and undermined oceanfront structures.
- The beach in front of Buxton is closed in places because of hazardous debris, and the Park Service is developing cleanup plans with property owners and the county.
- Dare County Manager Bobby Outten said at least two nearby houses remain at risk and reported significant overwash at Highway 12 hotspots.
