NordicTrack Recalls About 45,500 RW900 Rowing Machines Over Fire Risk

Regulators cite eight incidents, urging owners to unplug affected units for a free console replacement.

Overview

  • The recall follows reports that the screen console can overheat, smoke, melt or ignite, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
  • In total, 44,800 units in the U.S. and about 700 in Canada are affected, with at least $6,000 in property damage and no injuries reported.
  • Included models are NTRW19147.0, NTRW19147.1, NTRW19147.2 and NTRW19147.3, identifiable by an RW900 marking on the back legs and a model decal on the base.
  • The machines were sold from November 2018 through April 2022 at major retailers including Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nebraska Furniture Mart and ABT, as well as on Amazon and nordictrack.com.
  • Owners should stop using and unplug the rower, then contact iFIT to schedule a free in‑home replacement of the screen console by an authorized technician at 833-680-4348 or ntrw19147-recall@ifit.com.
