Overview

• On July 7 the York Press, News & Star and The Mail launched their Best Pub 2025 contests for York, North and West Cumbria, and South Cumbria.
• Nomination windows run until July 12 in York and until July 13 in North, West and South Cumbria, with entries submitted online.
• After nominations close, each newspaper will tally votes and publish a shortlist of ten finalists in mid-July.
• Final voting is scheduled from July 21 to August 2 using online forms and printed ballots included in newspaper editions.
• Winners will be revealed in the week beginning August 11, following 2024 campaigns that honoured community hubs like Nether Poppleton’s Lord Nelson and Barrow Island’s Devonshire.
