Nokia and Vivo Reach Landmark 5G Patent Agreement

Nokia and Vivo have signed a multi-year 5G patent cross-license agreement, resolving all pending patent litigation between the two companies.
The agreement includes Vivo making royalty payments to Nokia, along with catch-up payments for the dispute period.
This marks Nokia's sixth major smartphone patent license agreement in the past thirteen months, nearing the completion of its smartphone license renewal cycle.
The deal is expected to facilitate Vivo's entry into international markets, including Europe, where its phones have not been available due to the lawsuit.
Nokia's patent portfolio, built on around €150 billion invested in R&D since 2000, includes over 20,000 patent families, with more than 6,000 declared essential to 5G.
