Overview
- The Gautam Buddh Nagar police issued the order on Friday, Oct. 9, and it takes effect from Oct. 10 to Oct. 20 across the district.
- The BNSS Section 163 order bars organising or joining public gatherings of five or more without police permission, bans processions, provocative speeches and the spread of misleading information.
- Security checks have been stepped up and extra police personnel plus the Border Security Force have been deployed at Noida’s borders with Delhi to enforce the curbs.
- The order sets operational rules such as a one-kilometre ban on drone filming near government offices, a 200-metre zone of extra restrictions around exam centres, and a night loudspeaker curfew.
- Officials said the move was issued ex parte because of urgency, that violations will be prosecuted under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and the Uttar Pradesh government may later modify the order.
