Police said the gang set up the bogus office in Noida’s Phase 3 area and posed as members of an international investigative agency

Overview

  • Officers seized nine mobile phones, multiple stamp seals, cheque books, forged ministry certificates, identity cards, signboards and about ₹42,300 in cash at the rented Sector 70 premises.
  • Six men from West Bengal—including Bibhash Chandra Adhikari and his son Araghya—have been identified, charged and sent to judicial custody.
  • A formal FIR cites offences under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, the Information Technology Act and the Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act.
  • Police say the group leased the office on June 4 and ran it for roughly two weeks, using a website (www.intlpcrib.in) to solicit purported donations.
  • Investigators are analysing seized devices and records to identify extortion victims and trace the group’s financial networks and potential accomplices.
