Noida International Airport Enforces 10-Km Construction Ban and 20-Km Height Restrictions

Monthly inspections under strengthened civil aviation laws will ensure removal of illegal structures within buffer zones ahead of the airport’s first-phase opening.

Work is currently in full swing to launch the first phase of Noida International Airport operations by the end of this year.

Overview

  • All new construction within a 10-km radius is prohibited without a no-objection certificate from the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration.
  • Any vertical development or tree planting inside a 20-km zone now requires a height-clearance NOC from the Airport Authority of India under 2015 aviation regulations.
  • Authorities will conduct monthly surveys and invoke the 2023 Aircraft (Demolition of Obstructions) Rules to dismantle unauthorized builds and levy penalties.
  • Measures aim to mitigate flight-safety risks posed by unregulated structures, bird strikes and stray animals identified by the Airport Environment Management Committee.
  • Despite missing earlier launch deadlines and facing daily penalties, the greenfield PPP project by YIAPL remains on course for a phased opening by year-end.
