Noida International Airport Completes First Flight Validation Test Ahead of April 2025 Launch

The test flight marks a critical milestone for Jewar Airport, set to ease congestion at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport.

The first flight validation test for Noida International Airport was successfully conducted on December 9, 2024, ahead of its commercial opening in April 2025.
An IndiGo test flight traveled from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport to Jewar Airport to assess runway performance, airspace coordination, and emergency readiness.
Officials aim to complete the validation process by December 15, after which the airport will apply for an aerodrome license required for commercial operations.
Developed by Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, the project is designed to handle 12 million passengers annually in its first phase.
The airport’s first phase, costing ₹10,056 crore, is over 85% complete, with the terminal building and air traffic control tower nearing operational readiness.
