Noe Valley Fire Displaces Five, Contained by SFFD

A wall heater sparked the early morning blaze, which firefighters contained within 30 minutes.

  • The fire broke out at 2:30 a.m. in a three-story, two-unit home on Sanchez Street.
  • Seventy firefighters responded and successfully prevented the fire from spreading to neighboring homes.
  • A live electrical wire fell on the first arriving truck but was quickly de-energized by PG&E.
  • The fire gutted the top floor, while the lower floors suffered water damage.
  • All five residents, including a family of four, evacuated safely without injuries.
