The Nobel prize season is in full swing, with the physics prize to be awarded Tuesday. The prizes are named after Swedish scientist Alfred Nobel (1833-1896)

  • Mary Brunkow, Fred Ramsdell and Shimon Sakaguchi won the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for discoveries on peripheral immune tolerance that explain how the body prevents self‑attack.
