Noah Schnapp says playing gay 'Stranger Things' character helped him come out

Noah Schnapp credits playing Will Byers, a gay character on Stranger Things, with helping him accept his own sexuality and come out publicly.
Schnapp came out in a TikTok video in January and says he would likely still be closeted without his role as Will.
He told his co-star Millie Bobby Brown he was gay over FaceTime while in a Party City store.
Schnapp's sister was the first person he came out to; his parents and friends were very supportive.
In Stranger Things' upcoming final season, Schnapp's character Will Byers will have a significant emotional arc.
