Noah Kahan Unveils 'The Great Divide,' His Fourth Album, Out April 24

Kahan presents the record as an intimate reckoning with his past — a return to the place that formed him.

Overview

  • The title track, “The Great Divide,” arrives Friday, Jan. 30, after live previews that began with a 2024 debut at Fenway Park.
  • Kahan says he wrote and recorded the album in multiple locations, including Nashville, Guilford in Vermont, upstate New York, and a farm in Only, Tennessee.
  • Longtime collaborator Gabe Simon co-wrote the single, with portions of the album reported to involve producer-songwriter Aaron Dessner.
  • The project follows 2022’s Stick Season, which expanded Kahan’s audience and led to a 2024 Best New Artist Grammy nomination.
  • Kahan plans a major tour later this year, with a Bonnaroo set in June confirmed, and a career-spanning documentary announced by Live Nation Productions, Federal Films, Polygram Entertainment and RadicalMedia.
