Overview

  • The Beacon update introduces city-builder mechanics by overhauling settlements, allowing players to become mayors, construct and upgrade buildings, manage inhabitants and hire wingmen to defend towns.
  • Beacon goes live June 4 across Mac, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch.
  • A free Switch2 Edition launches June 5 for existing Switch owners, bundling the Beacon features with next-generation optimizations.

  • Hello Games spent over a year refining the Switch2 port using secret Nintendo dev kits and continues its nine-year post-launch commitment with this 38th named update.
