Kam Jones led No. 5 Marquette to a 95-65 victory over Rider, scoring 23 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals.
Oso Ighodaro contributed a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double, while David Joplin and Chase Ross each scored 11 points for Marquette.
Marquette's team shooting was impressive, with a 54.8 percent overall and 43.3 percent from the 3-point line.
Despite the loss, Rider outrebounded Marquette 39-37, with Mervin James and T.J. Weeks Jr. leading the Broncs with 15 and 14 points respectively.
