The announcement was made live on ESPN by her sister, Chiney Ogwumike, who is a basketball analyst for the network.
Ogwumike averaged 16.7 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 2024, earning her a spot on the All-WNBA Second Team and the All-Defensive Second Team.
Seattle recently traded Jewell Loyd to the Las Vegas Aces in a three-team deal, acquiring the No. 2 pick in the upcoming WNBA draft, signaling a mix of rebuilding and competitive aspirations.
The Storm also retained Gabby Williams using their core designation and await a decision from free agent Skylar Diggins-Smith on whether she will return to the team.
