NMC Flags Over 70 West Bengal Medical Colleges for Compliance Failures

  • Colleges flagged in 2024-25 were fined, while those reviewed in 2025-26 were granted only conditional approval for their MBBS seat renewals.
  • On May 19 the Under Graduate Medical Education Board issued public alerts against unapproved institutions including Sanjiban Hospital and Medical College for misleading admissions.
  • The NMC remains in active monitoring mode and has warned that stricter sanctions will follow if colleges do not rectify their deficiencies.
