NJ Correctional Officers Charged with Sexual Assault of Teen at Juvenile Facility

Two senior officers are accused of abusing their positions to assault an 18-year-old detainee in Bordentown, New Jersey.

Gary Nieves, 53, and William Young, 35, are facing multiple charges including sexual assault and official misconduct.
The alleged assaults took place at the Juvenile Female Secure Care and Intake Facility in Burlington County.
Nieves allegedly assaulted the victim multiple times in a bathroom under the pretense of supervision.
Young is accused of assaulting the teen in her cell while pretending to supervise her cleaning duties.
Both officers could face up to 10 years in prison for each count if convicted, and the investigation is ongoing.
