Overview
- On June 22, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released the final architectural plans for the Janki Mandir at Punauradham, marking the end of the design phase.
- A new trust has been constituted to fast-track redevelopment of the temple site, including the 151-foot-high main shrine and visitor amenities.
- The state cabinet appointed Noida-based Design Associates INC as the project’s design consultant, leveraging its experience with Ayodhya’s Ram Temple.
- The redevelopment plan covers religious and tourism infrastructure such as Sita-Vatika, Luv-Kush Vatika, a parikrama path, display kiosks, cafeterias, children’s zones and thematic gates.
- Officials have allocated Rs 120 crore to the project, aiming to finish major construction by October-November 2025 as part of the Ramayana circuit linking Ayodhya and Sitamarhi.
