Nissan Unveils CNG Retrofit for Magnite SUV Starting at ₹6.89 Lakh

It will roll out from June 1 in seven states before expanding nationwide in the next phase.

Overview

  • The ₹74,999 CNG kit is government-approved, developed by Motozen and backed by a three-year or 1 lakh km warranty with a 12 kg single-cylinder tank.
  • Magnite CNG is powered by a 1.0 litre naturally aspirated petrol engine mated to a five-speed manual transmission with no AMT option at launch.
  • Ex-showroom pricing for the CNG variant begins at ₹6.89 lakh, adding a fuel-efficient option to the Magnite lineup that has sold over 200,000 units since 2020.
  • Initial phase covers seven states—Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Karnataka—with fitment at government-authorised centres.
  • Fuel economy is expected to reach 24 km/kg in city driving and up to 30 km/kg on highways to appeal to cost-conscious and eco-minded buyers.
