Nissan to Unveil New C-Segment SUV for India Today

The model opens Nissan’s five-vehicle India push, targeting the core mid-size SUV segment with localised Chennai production.

Overview

  • Today’s reveal initiates Nissan’s next phase in India as the first product in its five-model plan.
  • At around 4.3 metres in length, the SUV is positioned against the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and others.
  • Pre-reveal images suggest an all-black cabin with a triple-screen layout, climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, a sunroof, a powered driver’s seat, connected features and likely Level 2 ADAS.
  • Powertrains remain unconfirmed, with reports pointing to a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo for entry variants, while some outlets also mention a 1.5-litre petrol and a possible strong-hybrid for a future three-row iteration.
  • Production is expected at the Renault-Nissan Chennai plant for domestic sales and exports, with pricing to be announced; media estimates span roughly Rs 10–18 lakh ex-showroom and a market launch projected in early 2026.
