Nissan Students Preview Retro-Inspired Bluebird, Sunny and Skyline Builds for Tokyo Auto Salon

Built at Nissan’s Kyoto and Aichi technical colleges, the non-production customs will be fully unveiled on January 9 at Tokyo Auto Salon.

Overview

  • Nissan shared first-look images confirming three student-built show cars ahead of their public debut at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon.
  • The March Eloura reworks a K13 March to echo an early-1960s Bluebird with a new retro front end and sky blue-over-white styling.
  • A Datsun Sunny Coupe receives hand-formed wide arches, a vivid red respray, and an SR20DE engine sourced from an S15 Silvia plus woodgrain-trimmed interior.
  • The Re30 Skyline Silhouette turns an R30 sedan into a Group 5–style homage with an extreme splitter, boxy flares, and a tall rear wing to evoke 1980s motorsport.
  • Nissan says only one photo per car has been released so far, and the projects are educational showpieces rather than production vehicles.
