Overview
- The third-generation Leaf switches from hatchback to SUV on Nissan’s CMF-EV platform and will be built in Sunderland.
- Battery choices include 52 kWh with a reported 271-mile range or 75 kWh with a manufacturer-estimated 386 miles, with 150 kW DC charging said to add 273 miles in 30 minutes.
- The tested 75 kWh version produces 212 bhp and 355 Nm, reaching 60 mph in as little as 7.4 seconds in Sport mode.
- Inside, two 14.3-inch screens and NissanConnect with Google built-in headline the tech, with an optional dimming panoramic roof and ample storage but some cheaper-feeling materials.
- Practicality notes include a 437-litre boot, no frunk, average rear passenger space and limited rear visibility, with UK trims from Engage to Evolve and anticipated pricing of about £33,000–£36,000 that could qualify for the £3,750 Electric Car Grant.
