Nissan Recalls 173,000 NV200 Vans in U.S. Over Fuel-Pump Short That Can Stall Engines

The action follows NHTSA postings of multiple large recalls across other brands with free dealer remedies for affected owners.

  • NHTSA documents show 173,301 vehicles are affected due to a potential short in the fuel pump that could cause an engine stall and increase crash risk.
  • The recall covers certain 2013–2021 NV200, 2014–2017 and 2019 NV200 Taxi, and 2015–2018 Chevrolet City Express models.
  • Nissan says an incorrectly routed fuel-tank sensor harness can rub the fuel pump connector, wear through insulation, short the circuit, blow the pump fuse, and stall the engine.
