Nissan Launches Safety Recall for Over 480,000 VC-Turbo Vehicles in U.S. and Canada

Dealer inspections start July 15 with owner notifications due in late August to enable free repairs for affected vehicles

Overview

  • Recall 25V437 covers 443,899 vehicles in the U.S. and 37,837 in Canada spanning select 2021–24 Nissan Rogues, 2019–20 Altimas, 2019–22 Infiniti QX50s and 2022 QX55s
  • Nissan warns that manufacturing defects in VC-Turbo engine bearings can lead to gradual failure, loss of motive power and heightened crash risk
  • Beginning July 15, dealers will inspect engine oil pans for metal debris and carry out free engine repairs or replacements when debris is detected
  • For vehicles without debris, technicians will perform free preventative service, including oil changes and parts replacements tailored to each engine type
  • Owner notification letters will be mailed between August 19 and 25 under NHTSA oversight, with an estimated 1.2% of recalled vehicles expected to exhibit the defect
