Nissan Ariya Gains Tesla Supercharger Access With Unique Adapter Requirement

Nissan Ariya EV drivers in the U.S. will gain access to Tesla's Supercharger network starting December 10, adding to their existing charging options.
Access requires a $235 NACS to CCS adapter sold by Nissan, which includes a unique plastic insert to address a design feature of the Ariya's CCS port.
The plastic insert fills a hollow space between the DC pins in the Ariya's charge port, a step not required for other EVs using Tesla's network.
The adapter is available for order through Nissan dealerships and the company's U.S. website, with limited supply potentially causing delays for some buyers.
Nissan's older Leaf model, which uses the CHAdeMO connector, will not gain Supercharger access as the company transitions to the NACS standard for future EVs.
