Overview

  • The recall covers 443,899 Nissan and Infiniti vehicles in the U.S. and 37,837 in Canada equipped with 1.5- and 2.0-liter VC-Turbo engines that may suffer bearing defects.
  • Technicians will remove oil pans to check for metal debris and, if none is found, perform preventive maintenance such as gasket replacement, oil changes and engine control module updates.
  • Owners will receive notification letters in late August with instructions to bring their vehicles to dealerships for inspection and any necessary servicing.
  • Manufacturing flaws in the engine bearings can gradually cause power loss or failure, with warning signs including unusual noises, rough running and dashboard alerts.
  • Nissan Canada’s participation underscores a coordinated safety effort governed by NHTSA guidelines across both countries.
