Overview

  • Nintendo released a health and safety guide for the Switch 2 ahead of its June 5 launch that warns owners not to peel off the pre-applied screen film.
  • The adhesive film is engineered to hold glass fragments in place rather than prevent the screen from shattering.
  • Nintendo included a similar film-removal warning in manuals for the original Switch, Switch Lite and OLED Model.
  • Removing the film could expose users, especially children, to cuts from loose glass shards if the screen cracks.
  • Nintendo advises retaining the pre-applied film and using a dedicated screen protector to guard against scratches.
