Overview
- Nintendo's Gold Points program, launched in 2016, will cease awarding points for purchases after March 24, 2025, at 9:30 PM PDT.
- Gold Points already earned will remain valid for 12 months from the date they were issued and can still be used for discounts on eShop purchases.
- Physical game purchases released before March 24, 2025, will still be eligible for points if registered within the standard one-year timeframe.
- Platinum Points, another aspect of the My Nintendo rewards program, will continue unaffected and can still be used for digital and physical rewards.
- The discontinuation coincides with the anticipated launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, though Nintendo has not confirmed whether a new rewards system will replace Gold Points.
