Overview

  • The Switch Online mobile app has been renamed Nintendo Switch App with support for the upcoming Switch 2 launching on June 5, 2025.
  • It introduces manual “Upload to Smart Device” functionality alongside automatic uploads for the 100 most recent console captures.
  • Uploaded captures remain in cloud storage for 30 days and can be downloaded to a device’s camera roll.
  • A free Nintendo Account is required but a paid Switch Online subscription is not.
  • The app update also adds mobile notifications for GameChat invitations plus dedicated Zelda Notes features for Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
