Nintendo Switch 2 to Feature Magnetic Joy-Cons and Enhanced Backwards Compatibility

The upcoming console will support 4K resolution when docked and maintain compatibility with all previous Switch games and accessories.

Switch 2's Joy-Cons will attach via electromagnetic suction, replacing the traditional sliding rail system.
The new console will be fully backward compatible with physical and digital Switch games.
Switch 2 to feature an 8-inch, 1080p resolution screen in handheld mode, and support 4K visuals when docked.
Additional buttons and metal SL and SR shoulder buttons have been added to the new Joy-Cons.
Despite the upgrades, the design of the Switch 2 dock will remain similar to the current model but will support enhanced functionalities.
