Nine-Year-Old Cyclist Killed in Collision With School Bus in Almonte

Lanark County OPP has called in collision reconstruction experts to examine the crash.

  • A 9-year-old boy from R. Tait Mackenzie Public School was riding his bicycle on Paterson Street when he collided with a school bus at about 3:40 p.m. on June 25.
  • Witnesses conducted life-saving measures at the scene before first responders arrived.
  • The child was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased.
  • The Lanark County OPP is leading the investigation with assistance from an OPP Collision Reconstructionist and the Technical Collision Investigation Team.
