Overview

• Police said the container truck struck the tractor-trolley from behind around 2:10–2:15 am on NH‑34 near the Arnia bypass at the Bulandshahr–Aligarh border, overturning the vehicle.
• The death toll rose from eight to nine after another victim died in hospital, while roughly 40–45 people are being treated and at least three remain on ventilator support.
• The tractor-trolley was carrying about 61 pilgrims from Rafatpur in Kasganj district to Jaharpeer/Gogamedi in Rajasthan for a religious visit, according to officials.
