Overview
- Officers were called around 6pm on Sunday to a report of a dog attack at a home on Crossway in Rogiet, Monmouthshire.
 - A nine-month-old baby was pronounced dead at the scene despite the response from police and paramedics.
 - The dog involved was seized and removed from the property by Gwent Police.
 - A large emergency deployment included armed police, several police vehicles and Welsh Ambulance resources including a High Acuity Response Unit, an Advanced Paramedic Practitioner, a Duty Operations Manager and an Emergency Ambulance supported by the Hazardous Area Response Team.
 - Police remain at the scene with enquiries ongoing, urging anyone with information to call 101 quoting 2500349915 or contact Crimestoppers, and asking the public to avoid speculation out of respect for the family.
