Nine Hurt in Mallorca Bus–Van Collision as Separate Ibiza Motorcycle Crash Leaves Two Dead

Investigators say early findings point to a van ignoring a traffic sign in the Mallorca crash.

Overview

  • Emergency crews responded around 09:40 on Aug. 30 at km 14 of the Ma-4010 near the Cala Anguila access between Porto Cristo and Cala Mendia.
  • Bombers de Mallorca extricated the trapped van driver while SAMU 061 deployed up to seven ambulances to stabilize and transfer nine injured people to area hospitals.
  • Fire officials reported injuries of varying severity but said none were considered life‑threatening, with several of the more seriously hurt believed to have been in the van carrying tourists.
  • The Guardia Civil de Tráfico opened an on‑site investigation and restricted traffic on the secondary route during the response.
  • In a separate incident early Aug. 31, two motorcyclists died at the scene of a crash involving a car on Ibiza’s EI‑200 near km 4.5, and the car’s driver was extricated and taken to Can Misses hospital in reserved condition.
