Nine Charged in Long Island Teen's Kidnapping and Sex Trafficking Case

The 14-year-old was missing for 25 days before being rescued by her father on a docked yacht in New York.

Nine defendants, including seven men and two women, were arraigned on a 75-count grand jury indictment in Suffolk County court on Thursday.
The charges include child sex trafficking, kidnapping, rape, and endangering the welfare of a child, with some defendants facing potential life sentences if convicted.
Prosecutors allege the victim, a 14-year-old girl, was repeatedly raped, given drugs, and marketed for sex during her 25-day disappearance starting December 9, 2024.
The girl was rescued by her father on January 3, 2025, after he received an anonymous tip about her location on a docked yacht in Islip, New York.
Three additional individuals, including a mental health facility worker accused of groping the victim, face related charges but are not part of the initial indictment.
