Police say the investigation runs on two tracks under cattle-protection, cruelty, arson, robbery and atrocity laws.

  • Two FIRs were registered, including one under the Karnataka Prevention of Slaughter and Preservation of Cattle Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act against three suspects over the alleged transport.
  • A second case over the torching and assault was filed under arson, robbery and the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, naming six suspects.
